Bus Driver

Join The Greater Dayton School team as a part-time school Bus Driver. Drive the school’s morning and evening bus route (split shift) while ensuring safety for all students.

• Are you a safe and reliable driver?
• Are you known as someone that can build positive relationships with people? 
• Are you a problem solver?
• Do you easily get bored when there’s nothing to do?
• Are you a meticulous records keeper?
• Do you have a current CDL (Class B) License? 

Hours:

• Monday – Friday
• 6am-8:30am AND 3:30pm - 6:30pm
• Additional field trip hours available
• NO holidays or weekends required

Responsibilities will include:

• Learn the bus routes
• Drive bus routes during the timeframe
• Helping students get buckled in (with assistance from aide)
• Keeping students seated (monitored by bus aide)
• Communicating with other bus drivers
• Ensuring Student Safety (monitored by bus aide)
• Taking Attendance
• Safe Transportation of Students: Safety and reliability are two of the most important factors in the transportation for students to and from our School.

Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years or older
• Must have current CDL with passenger endorsement and/or school bus equivalent
• Must have HS Diploma or equivalent
• Must be willing to authorize a background check
• Previous work or experience with youth preferred
